When did it all start?

Mr. Bumpers went with a friend to an audition as support. While in waiting room he heard another actor reciting lines and stated “he would not have said it like that” prompting the actor to hand DeMarcus the script where he proceeded to recite the lines catching the attention of producer and casting director that was passing by the waiting room. Bumpers was approached about auditioning and was asked three times which the first two times he was reluctant about doing so and he was convinced on third attempt to audition. He booked the role and the rest is history from there causing him not to look back. Lydia Harris helped navigate his career and placed him in front of the right people to really get started in the business.

What is your main motivation or inspiration?

DeMarcus believes in being impactful in the community, bridging the gaps, and giving back in the community by time, service and necessary resources.

Tell us about your career. Your best experience? And the worst?

Bumpers best experience was securing roles in the drama genre of films as that is his strongest area of acting.

Worst experience was hearing the “No’s” in the entertainment industry.

Any idol or reference?

Barack Obama, Denzel Washington, Samuel L Jackson, Morgan Freeman, Danny Glover, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Sidney Poitier.

What are your next projects?

Streaming Sarah by Joyce Kostakis and Tiffany Sturdivant as Director, The Devil Comes Dressed For Church Too, Smoke and Mirrors, Get Out Of My Dreams.

Struggle, the Beginning of the End with Director/Podcaster Of The Just Acting Up James Joffrion.

Last, Bumpers most notable upcoming role Friday the 13th Jason Voorhees Fan Feature Film with Jeff May and Chris Todd Durbin.

How do you see yourself in 5 years? and in 15 years?

Mr. Bumpers see himself booking sitcoms and major motion pictures. Right now with his strong resume of film credits has him on track to achieve his dream.

In fifteen year Mr.Bumpers see himself as the first African American Male Houstonian Emmy Award, Golden Globe and Academy Award Winner for acting.

DeMarcus Bumpers is a proud graduate of Prairie View A&M University and son to Dr. Desire Bumpers-Francis and Lee Bumpers both entrepreneurs. Bumpers is a Houston, TX native that worked in oil field before packing his bags for Hollywood to pursue acting professionally full-time. Mr. Bumpers is the family of Death Row Records Founders The Legendary Michael Harry O Harris and Lydia Harris. Both were responsible for the launch of his acting career in Hollywood with Lydia Harris spearheading Bumpers career in the entertainment industry. DeMarcus is also cousin to New York Giants NFL Football Player Darius Slayton, Cousin to International Grammy Award Winning Songstress Beyoncé Giselle Knowles and Cousin to Film Director Justin Simien of film “Dear White People”.
